    My thoughts on the addition of emotes to Gears of War.

    TLDR: Emotes do not fit gears, look dumb, take up other cosmetic spaces and were overall just a bad decision on TC's part.

    When i found out there would be a seasonal operation and a shop i was stoked because i thought of all the cool post launch executions that were going to be released and so far i havent been dissapointed but i honestly think emotes should have never been a thing.

    This is gears, emotes feel so out of place. I feel like the emote wheel could be used for something more like selecting different executions mid match and voice lines (which i love).

    These emotes take up a big amount of cosmetic spaces for cosmetics that are only going to be used at the beginning and end of matches. I feel like we could have a lot more cool cosmetics in place of these emotes.

    I think they are good for use when someone is being executed but i think they could have done way better in terms of those situations. I think group executions would have been a really nice innovation and addition to the franchise and would open the door for a bunch of new cool executions but they chose emotes.

    In my opinion a lot of the facial animations on these look very bad. It would have honestly been better just to make the characters face blank while doing them, it would look weird, but not weird and ridiculous.

    Overall i think emotes were a terrible addition to this game and i feel they could have done way better alternatively.

    How Smart Are The Locust?

    Many of you are probably going to say "Dumb as hell.". But they REALLY arent that dumb.

    Obviously, not as smart as humans (or Serans. same thing though)

    First. They have Religion. Something really only Humans have, so that is advanced for something non human.

    Next, they use other means of Transportation other then walking. Gas Barges and the Gunboats are fairly good examples of it. Gas barges are them literally flying. Gunboats are them moving across water (really only seen in the hollows sadly)

    They also know how to Domesticate animals. Brumaks and Corpsers are decently good examples. This is them taking a different species and using it for a different purpose then food.

    Speaking of food, they also hunt. They hunt rockworms, then the Butchers cut it up and cook it.

    Organized Military Systems are a key thing. Certain units have certain weapons, armor, purposes, and reasons they are there. Snipers hang back, Therons run up, Boomers Blow things up. Nothing else does that job other then the specific unit.

    They Also "Enslave" Creatures. Diggers, are a good example. The Digger Launcher, is a gun that shoots out small Burrowing creatures Called "Diggers". The only purpose of the digger animal is to shoot out and blow itself up. Tickers i guess are examples too. They have taken wild animals and turned them into kamikaze animals. Finally, Humans. They also put humans into work camps (shown in the second game)

    They also have the need to conquer. Much rather then sharing land with Humans and getting along, they decide that taking the land so they own it for themselves is a far better idea.

    Finally, Gun Manufacturing. Yes, the guns they use are mainly used by the Locust are actually made BY them. Hammerbursts, Torque Bows, Boomshots, Boltoks, Gorgon Pistols, Breechshots, and several other weapons are actually made entirely by them (Parts are usually parts of UIR and COG weapons they broke apart and put together with other stuff to make their own guns).

    So. it is fair to say they are probably score about anywhere inbetween 75-90 IQ on a standard test.

    Hasn't it been months since a simple bug made TC remove it from rotation? I mean, wtf? I'd rather just play the map without closing the mid slider windows..

    Bounties

    Personally, I think the addition of bounties to Gears 4 was a cool concept, and with the introduction of new currencies in Gears 5, it could've been used in wider range. You could've gotten scrap, XP, Boost, maybe even some stars and Iron! I am unsure why they have done away with it though. If they have explained why they aren't in Gears 5, can someone make this clear?

    So I got my 15 kills with explosives for the Niles Boomshot this afternoon but there was a bug. TC fixed this issue about an hour ago, you need to play one more versus match to trigger the skin/medal to show up but to me it is not working, has anyone gotten the skin?

    TC had a point

    Execution is almost dead. Yesterday played at peak hour, usually can get pretty fast quick match (no bots) and ranked , however playing the special event (Execution) was a pain. After an hour finally got 10 people in a lobby. It was almost all games a 3vs2 or 3vs1 and even got two games 2vs0 ( yeah ...).

    So to the people that want back execution, there is not any real possibility after this event.

    Saints row 2006 allowed people to create their clans in game and invite whoever they wanted to em n you could rank them on a leaderboard within the game and have blast with your friends why has nobody copied that lol

    Do people like how fast the weapon switch is?

    It's never been near this quick and personally, I don't like how you can switch from your lancer to your gnasher in .2 seconds. Kinda makes it harder to punish people camping with a lancer imo what do y'all think?

    I love the changes first of all. I consistently have 15-20 ping with hardly any issues. After the update I'm finding myself in situations where I I'm in the middle of a 1v1 battle and the connection icons pop up and than I die and I can get one shot out by the time he's done three on me??? I just don't get it.. just not having fun anymore dealing with this.

    Does Jack ignore you?

    I am hear to raise awareness about Jack's actions during the campaign. I have spent some of my finest components buying him an awesome upgrade so he can save me when im down in battle. I understand he wants to share the love with his friends and let them have the honor in saving me but when they are on the other side of no man's land cos I went for the flank and your hovering right next to me Jack I think the best and normally only option is for you to revive me. Your suppose to be my trusty sidekick and you leave me to die all the time. We need to get #ReviveMeJack trending on all social networks so Jack knows when someone is down near him and they have purchased the upgrade to revive them and not wait for Del to run across the Sahara desert to revive me instead.

    TRASH TEAMMATES

    There needs to be consequences for AFK teammates & bad performance in ranked its not fair that everyone as a whole loses points after grinding because of these selfish people. I've had multiple back to back games where my mates are 0-9, 0-6 and don't seem to even know what mode they're playing
