    I personally think the Prometheans are the most boring "bad guys" in video game history. The little dog things are stupid, the weapons are stupid, and I can't stay awake long enough to beat Halo 5. If plasma grenades sent grunts flying into bite size pieces, would it add a little flair to the series? Or would Halo lose it's class?

    I want to compile a list of things that I think destroys the enjoyment of this game. These are my own personal opinions and you're welcome to your own.

    SBMM/ Ranking System

    Since the latest update it's never been easier to hit masters, this creates a massive disparity between players of the same rank, I'd argue that even onyx/gold level players can easily achieve masters now. This is great that everyone now feels 'good' but it also destroys matchmaking because I as a true masters am genuinely getting 5x the score of someone in the same rank in some games, This is bad for matchmaking as games are just super uncompetitive and lopsided. I like competitive lobbies where you feel like you're playing people around your own level, not the case enough anymore, you have to look elsewhere and go into privates for a proper competitive experience.

    Ping / Searching Preferences

    Everyone has there ping set to faster matchmaking by default and a lot of people don't bother to change it, me being from Europe playing mostly at 11pm-2am match up against people from America/South America constantly, even during the day this is an issue. Lopsided ping matches aren't fun for anybody involved, literally there's no need for it. When there's a whole lobby with like 150+ ping and I'm the only player with sub 10, literally horrible, doesn't make sense. TC just need to have 'Lower Ping' as the default and 'Faster MM' as the alt option. Nobody in the USA or Europe should even have to use 'faster mm' you will most likely find a koth match in under 5 minutes. You lose the sense of rivalries and playing familiar people, just feels soulless playing against someone with 200 ping on the other side of the word that i'll never likely see again.

    GP+Eliminations

    Eliminations an idea that started out with the right intentions no doubt, prevent kill stealing ✅ make people crossing feel rewarded ✅. But this is literally a shocking system in it's current state, one chip of your gnasher is enough, literally 0.0000001 is enough, stupid stupid stupid, a 40-60% threshold to qualify for an elim... talk to me about it but this current system is shocking. I'd rather kill stealing as that was actually a funny unique gears thing where there was a code you just didn't break, added life and personality to the game. Don't take my kill biiiiiitch. GP aswell it's an awful scoreboard system, caps out at 1500 doesn't give a fair reflection of the match, it's just genuinely bad, doesn't reward damage, spotting. They killed the scoreboard to get in this new ranking system that isn't even as good as the old one. Just bad bad bad, seems to me both of these were designed to make everyone feel like they're contributing and pulling there weight. The good players no longer stand out as they did in the old system.

    Stats/Leaderboards/Scoreboard

    One of the most fun things in the old gears games was the weekly and monthly leaderboards, checking out your kills and deaths, looking at your friends, competing for a good spot on the weekly and monthlies and even trying to work up the all time list, the stats and leaderboards in this game are nothing short of a disgrace. Gears 1 came out in 2006 and had all the essentials, over 15 months into gears 5 and I still can't see how many kills and deaths I've got... not good enough. Can still not see the previous games scoreboard post match, not that you'd want to as it's just everyone on 1500 points, good performers no longer stand out since they went away from legacy score counting. GP needs revamping.

    Gore/Gibs/Headshots

    Gears 1 headshots with Gears 2 chunks, mmm yes please. No extra detail here as don't expect anything to be done about it in gears 5.

    Conclusion

    Just not enjoying the game anymore in its current state, too many things wrong with it, it's sad because the core gameplay is pretty solid but there's just too much wrong outside of that, With operations you get a buzz for 2 weeks then it feels like 2.5 months of just waiting desperately for something new. Someone save Gears Of War 😞
