    Weekly Developer Stream Today!

    Where to Watch:

    When:

    • Starts at ~3pm PST
    • Lasts for ~1.5-2 hours

    Be sure to check for a stickied comment below. If anything changes in regards to day/time, we'll be sure to have that info in the stickied comment!

    Who:

    • Most weeks, Dana (u/tc-mjrdecision) and Liam (u/OctusTC) host
    • Occasionally Ryan (u/n0dezero) or some other developer
    • Andius (Community Team) works behind the scenes to run the stream/chat

    What:

    • The community team discusses any recent news and follows up with a Q/A session
    • Some streams have raffles or "click-to-claim" style prizes available!

    Submitting Questions!

    Currently TC looks at 2 main places for questions: The Chat and General community discussion. In attempt to gather some better questions that TC may be able to better prepare answers for, we are going to look at collecting some questions in this thread.

    Also note that this is not a thread that is officially supported by TC. We cannot guarantee that they'll see and/or use this. But we figure it's worth a shot. If nothing else, maybe someone else in the thread will be able to answer your questions!

    This is a quote from the Future of Ranked post put up by TC earlier today. It sounds like they're actually admitting that they catered to the wrong audience for the first 6 months of the game.

    This was obvious to most of us and it's nice to see them own up to it but I just wish this wasn't the case at all. I'm certain that gamepass, and maybe Rod, were huge factors in this and why it's taken so long to change.

    Hopefully it's not too little too late, and TC can get Gears 5 back to where it should've been.

    Can't find a match in Gears 5 - Only server showing up in settings menu is Australia at 220 ping and I'm in America?

    Haven't been able to play Gears in well over a month as I've been too busy. The world is crazy right now, as we know, so I finally have some time to play gears. I turn on my PC and try to find a match but I can't. I tried social, ranked, and quickplay. Got in a social TDM after about 15 minutes and I had a ping of 250! This has never happened before. I assume I'm connecting to the Australian server, but why? Is anyone else having similar issues? I'm in New York state, near Buffalo.

    Anyone still play Gears 4?

    I am really wanting to keep playing Gears, I just finished Gears 1 through to Judgement, I love the campaign, but I have never played multiplayer before... Is Gears 4 still populated or has everyone moved onto Gears 5? I dont want to have to buy both since Corona could make my bills skyrocket...

    So, I just replayed all of the original Gears of War trilogy and continued into the Gears series (which I had never played before). I just finished Gears 5 last night. I've been a Gears fan from day one, but not really a die hard. Haven't read the books or done much deep research outside of the games (yet).

    That said, I have a theory about Gears 6 from a developmental and business standpoint.

    I read through a r/GearsOfWar forum about the choice made at the end of Gears 4 between saving JD and Del in such a linear series. Personally, I saved Del. Though I was distressed that saving them both wasn't even a plausible option between throwing the knife at Reyna or calling for Jack.

    I'm not certain of TC's ideas, but my theory is that there won't be a Gears 6. Instead, there may be two (2) Gears 6 games. OR, you HAVE to have a Gears 5 "End Game Save File" in order to start Gears 6. This way, the game will hold true to each and every player's choice between Del and JD.

    With two games TC would make a lot more money from sales (much like GameFreak with their 2-4 games per generation), and with a required save file they make more money from back sales of Gears 5 (and maybe ever 4) for those who haven't played or aren't caught up (like myself).

    I feel that TC is too smart of a game development company to, for the first time, give such a game changing decision at the END of a game without a plan on how to follow through with it in following releases.

    There may not be more after the next release, so they may be planning something BIG to end it all with.

    What are your thoughts? Personally, I think I'd like the idea of an NPC AI-controlled game to end it all that morphed and bases its characters actions and gameplay on decisions we made and may make in the future releases.

    A little better resolution, what do you think that is? At first glance I thought it was the swarm grenadier but that helmet is new and has no glowing eyes/scratch marks.

    I just want to vent my frustration; I'm trying to update my payment information and get my Game Pass Ultimate back. The process is a dead end from Xbox Live PC (Beta). When I tried to do it online, I somehow managed to use an alternate email and ended up buying it for the wrong account. (Already got my Refund, no big deal.) Everytime I try to purchase the Game Pass, it sends me to a sign in screen which leads me back to the purchase screen, and so on. I decided I'd be better off changing my verification to Phone, and now I have to wait 30 days before I can make any purchases. I remember this happening last time I tried to update my payment information 2 years ago. (The going in circles part.) I don't think Microsoft wants my money.
