How Many Traditional Maps in Each Game

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 01:44 AM PST

For no reason I just thought to list the number of maps in each game and break them down into categories. Just to see the type of Maps Epic/TC released in their games.

Gonna break it down like this:

Starting Maps - NEW Maps that the game launched with.

New DLC - Post-launch NEW maps

Returning - Old Maps REMADE for the new game (eg. Making Canals ice themed in Gears 2)

Imported - Maps that were "imported" from a previous game with "minimal" changes (eg Foundation playable in Gears 5, Gears PC maps playable in Gears 2)

Remixed - Maps that are "remade/remixed" within the same game (eg Reclaimed Windflare, Harbor Haze etc)

    Gears 1 - 19 Maps

    • Starting: 10
    1. Canals, Clocktower, Escalation, Fuel Depot, Gridlock, Mansion, Mausoleum, Rooftops, Tyro Station, War Machine
    • New DLC: 9
    1. Old Bones, Raven Down, Bullet Marsh, Garden, Process, Subway, Courtyard (PC), Gold Rush (PC), Sanctuary (PC)

    Gears 2 - 29 Maps (26 discounting Imported)

    • Starting: 10
    1. Avalanche, Blood Drive, Day One, Hail, Jacinto, Pavilion, River, Ruins, Security, Stasis
    • New DLC: 9
    1. Flood, Fuel Station, Underhill, Grindyard, Allfathers Garden, Memorial, Highway, Way Station, Nowhere
    • Returning: 7
    1. Gridlock, Subway, Mansion, Tyro Station, Canals, Fuel Depot, War Machine
    • Imported: 3
    1. Courtyard, Gold Rush, Sanctuary

    Gears 3 - 25

    • Starting: 9
    1. Checkout, Drydock, Hotel, Mercy, Old Town, Overpass, Sandbar, Thrashball, Trenches
    • New DLC: 9
    1. Azura, Rustlung, Academy, Anvil, Depths, The Slab, Aftermath, Artillery, Cove
    • Returning: 7
    1. Gridlock, Bullet Marsh, Clocktower, Blood Drive, Escalation, Jacinto, Raven Down

    Gears 4 - 34 Maps (29 discounting Remixed)

    • Starting: 9
    1. Dam, Fallout, Forge, Foundation, Harbor, Impact, Lift, Reclaimed, Relic
    • New DLC: 4
    1. Dawn, Diner, Glory, Speyer
    • Returning: 16
    1. Gridlock, Avalanche, Blood Drive, Canals, Checkout, Clocktower, Drydock, Fuel Depot, Hotel, Mercy, Old Town, Raven Down, Rustlung, Security, The Slab, War Machine
    • Remixed: 5
    1. Forge Blitz, Harbor Haze, Impact Dark, Lift Apex, Reclaimed Windflare

    Gears 5 - 24 (15 discounting Imported)

    • Starting: 7
    1. Asylum, Bunker, District, Exhibit, Icebound, Training Grounds, Vasgar
    • New DLC: 6 (added 3 from Op 5 as a guess)
    1. Allfathers Arena, Pahanau, Reactor, Op5 Map1, Op5 Map2, Op5 Map3
    • Imported: 9
    1. Blood Drive, Canals, Checkout, Dam, Forge, Foundation, Harbor, Lift, Reclaimed

Judging by the pants, the new Lambent along with the Theron is a grenadier. While hopefully the original one will also be available in time, I’m glad the Lambent Grenadier got its own “fully-infected” design that matches the Lambent in 3.

The scorcher is 100% gonna be a new MP weapon

Theory: River is only being made available because the fabricator is now destructible.

    Posted: 12 Nov 2020 04:39 PM PST

I'm super excited to have River again! Especially after being told by TC that it wasn't gonna happen!

My theory: River was "broken" pre-Operations 5. Horde players could just stick the Fabricator in the doorway of the towers and beat the map easily. Now that the Fabricator is destructible, this is far from a sure-fire way of beating the map.

So which came first? The destructible Fabricator or River in Gears 5? I don't know. Either way I'm super happy that the map is finally here!
