There I was with my silverback at 80% remaining energy, Master mode firing at a bunch of DR-1 in this mess of Locust that HAVE NO PLACE in the current Horde, suddenly among the enemies a Sire decide to show up, there face to face it lunged at me in a frontal assault, went through my silverback like it was some kind of ghost, pulled me out of it and we got wiped with the rest of my squad trying to save me. I would understand If I get pulled from behind and deserve to be killed for letting an enemy getting through my sides but this garbage it's beyond ridiculous. [link] [comments] | ||

| Ranked Versus in Gears has been a catastrophic failure Posted: 25 May 2021 04:04 PM PDT I don't mean just Gears 5 but that's a big part of it. I mean Ranked multiplayer in general. Let's start with Gears 4: It had 2 modes, Execution and Escalation. There were other modes introduced way later but they were "Warmup" meaning they have bots and all the modes are stuffed together in 1 playlist. Not to mention you're constantly matched with people that aren't the same skill level. Don't forget how TC threw out Competitive Tuning for no reason with the next game. All that work and it was all restarted with the next game. And then we have Gears 5 and do I even have to tell you guys how bad Ranked has been in this game? The ranking system has never worked properly. Ever. It's been improved at certain times but it's never really been what it was originally supposed to be. We got more modes but they constantly move around on us. Now the ranking system is even worse than it was a month ago. Escalation 2.0 was a total bust. I bet some of you forgot about that didn't you? I don't see how TC expects Ranked to survive when it comes out of the gate with the weakest and most limited offerings they could use. Execution didn't even get a chance at launch. Then they removed it for Gridiron. Then Gridiron got removed for Execution 2.0. Can someone tell me what the hell is going on? And don't even get me started on E-Sports. You know, the thing no one cares about until it's time to claim a low effort weapon skin. Ranked in Gears has just been a complete travesty. [link] [comments] | ||

As a solo player it is a god awful experience. A total of 90 games played since op 7 released with 22 wins while holding a 1.6kd. The ranking system is utter garbage. What am I playing for seriously? To get dreadful skins for top 1000? there is no incentive to try and improve no sense of accomplishment. I was previously master in KOTH and FFA at least I had a sense of moving up with getting masters. I've played gears since the very first game. I've grew up playing gears it's sad that the franchise is pretty much dead. Just give us GoW2 remastered and call it a day. FUCK COALITION. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 25 May 2021 10:46 PM PDT Hey guys! I've been playing this game for years now, and up until they changed the ranks recently, I consistently placed diamond and onyx in all versus playlists. After they redid ranked, I realized just how many people still don't have a firm grasp of the basics, so I wanted to share a few things you should be doing automatically that you may not realize. Don't waste your explosives - Every explosive in the game is extremely valuable. Whether is the drop shot, boomshot, or just grenades, they can make getting out of a tight spot easy. That said, you also need to realize that the jeer weapons have the very real potential to take out groups of enemies, 2, 3, even 5 at a time. If you aren't in serious risk of getting yourself or others killed, try to hold off on using those explosives until you find an unwary cluster of enemies, and then launch off and wait for hell to break loose. Don't always rush in for the kill, even if they're downed - I see this all the time. A guy manages to down someone halfway across the damn map, but behind cover. What does said guy do? Why, he rushes across the damn map, that's what! Problem is, the downed player had teammates nearby, plus with so much distance, he can revive himself before mr. rusher ever gets close. Great, now instead of netting himself a kill, the rusher just threw himself into a group of enemies with only a shotgun. Chances are, he's gonna die before he even gets a shot off. If you down someone from that far away, just leave it. It's for the best. Noisy and traveling weapons need to be used on distracted enemies. - You know the ones, they go hum when you fire them, or they take seconds to reach the enemy in most situations. EMBAR, torque bow, salvo, dropshot, the like. Stop trying to use those on enemies that are directly facing you and know you're there. It's almost certain they're going to just sit tight or dodge for a second, and then you've just wasted all your ammo for no reason, only to find you now only have a shotgun and a snub pistol. Hope you didn't put yourself into the open too! Wait on those enemies to be distracted or, better yet, set up your own distraction if you have a willing teammate, and THEN open fire. Voila, you now have 7 extra kills just by being a little patient. Get the hell out of the way - Seriously, you see me trying to shoot this guy literally right next to you, why the fuck do you feel to roll right in front of me EVERY DAMN TIME I SHOOT? In fact, why the hell are you standing right next to me anyway? Sacrifice isn't always bad - If they have a guy with explosives, it's usually better to have one person rush him and make him use his stuff killing just one guy. Though counterintuitive, it ties into what we talked about earlier— that guy is gonna have several opportunities to kill a group of your teammates, and he's probably gonna do it twice. Forcing him to use it on just one guy is a win. Power weapons - Please stop pretending they don't exist. That's all. Just go the power weapons on your map. Especially now that they've nerfed the lancer so much, you're gonna want replacements, and every gears map has solid ones. That said, if you don't know how to use a weapon, maybe you should let someone who does know grab it. The only exception here is if you're certain the enemy will grab it instead, in which case, keeping it from them may be a wise decision. [link] [comments] | ||
