    Canonical Ending of Gears 5 and why TC could likely go with this ending

    You saw the spoiler tag, but I'm warning you again, just in case...

    Just beat the Gears 5 campaign and I was surprised that they made the player decide on who to save (Del or JD).

    Why JD will probably be the one who lives.

    If JD died, would Marcus really be like, "Lost my son, and I didn't get a chance to show him that I did actually care, but there's still a bright side to this." TC gave Del and Kait tears when JD died, but Marcus just says "no", frowns, and gets over it? Not even a single man tear from Marcus for the loss of his son?

    When Del dies, Kait grabs Del's cog tags, gives them to JD as "he should probably have them, it's his childhood best friend." JD keeps Del's cog tags. Meanwhile, when JD dies, Kait grabs JD's cog tags, she gives them to Del. Later on, Kait gives JD's cog tags to Marcus. In the cutscene, Del never gave the cog tags back to Kait.

    When Del dies, JD seems to actually care about his childhood friend. When JD dies, Del is more focused on getting Kait to safety. This shows that TC probably spent more time on the JD stays alive scenario.

    A lot of movies, shows, and stories in general, commonly, will have a support-character have a lot of feel-good moments through the audience's eyes right before they die. JD took a backseat and this allowed Del to have more time to shine, so that the players would miss him later on. Meanwhile, the story puts JD in a bad light, and he hasn't really redeemed himself yet.

    Gears 5 allowed Kait and Del to grow as characters, Del being gone has more meaning now, especially for Kait when she tells JD (while he is holding Del's cog tags), "He was my friend too." Marcus and JD finally have a father-son moment, and gears 6 or gears 5 2nd dlc? could become a payback arc for JD and Kait.

    All speculation of course.

    Almost clutched it. Joined mid match 1-0 and they had 14 lives and our team had 8. Brought it back down to sudden death.

    I'm literally crushing them in TDM 15-4. The next game they're gods that won't die no matter how many times I hit them. They just walk and walk and walk around the map refusing to die. I can run and slide to walls, roll left and right it doesn't matter I die easy, they walk and have like triple health or something. Extremely frustrating, 2nd game 1 kill.

    Funny how they use gears to show off quick resume but every mode is online even the campaign. Just found it funny because Gears/TC retweeted it. Quick resume on gears 5 is spamming connect to online services.

    The attention to detail is insane in Gears of War 5. I have some complaints still, but TC has some true love for the series and it shows.

    Will it eventually be possible PvP or Horde in split screen in Gears 5 PC?

    I know that there is split screen in the campaign but I personally like Gears for the versus and Horde mode and I don't want to buy an Xbox just for local play in Gears.

    My computer went down for a couple of months and I finally got it running again just to find out they massively changed the game again? It felt so good right after they tuned the auto aim way down and I was so excited to finally play again but now it feels like theres permanent molasses people are walking through. Is there any talk of returning it to before or at least speeding up a bit? If not I really just dont feel like playing anymore, I dont think I'm exaggerating that it doesnt even feel like the same game. Tried getting used to it but after a night of playing it's not just frustrating, it's actually unfun.

    Will Operation 6 be the LAST *real* Operation for G5?

    Basically, what the title says...Do you think Operation 6 will be the last real operation for Gears 5?

    We know that dev support for G5 has been on the decline. We also no that there's no major updates, major tuning changes, escape tiles, or campaign DLC coming. We've even seen them shift PvE to be sorta on "auto-pilot" for a lack of better words. So, what does that leave us for in terms of operations?

    All I see us having left are cosmetics (skins/marks,etc) and maps. Hopefully we'll continue to see those get support through Sept/Oct (the 2-year mark). But is an "operation" really necessary for that? Perhaps they'll shift to a once-a-month release, or something like that.

    • People have complained that operations are too long
    • No more operations reduces marketing costs
    • No more operations is an excuse QA costs due to less feature/bug fixes
    • No more operations removes costs associated with updating the ToD

    There really isn't much left. Perhaps now is the time to shift away from operations.

    I would still suspect that we'll get skins and maps coming in...they just won't be grouped together into larger operations. We'll see more small drops rather than less frequent larger drops.

    I have some questions around how the ToD and store would work if Op6 truly is the last real operation...and I don't really know if it really is. It all just seems to indicate that when I read between the lines.
