    Compared to previous PvE modes (Beast and Overrun), is it a mode people asked for?

    I personally like it. It's like bringing linear campaign missions to multiplayer. But idk how most people feel about it and whether or not it should become a staple to PvE multiplayer for Gears the way Horde has.

    We all know that everyone wants more old returning weapons, maps, or classes as do I. I personally do believe that it will happen considering that we saw the leak of the Booshka and that the Scorcher has made it into the game. I don't know about you lads but here is a list of subtle changes that I would love to see make it into Horde mode since I am mainly a PvE player.

    • 1: Heavy weapon skins: When it comes to Military games like these I'm much of a player who prefers simplistic/realistic skins such as single-color patters or camos. That is why I have the Matte Black skin equipped across all of my guns. Wielding a matte black Lancer or matte black Longshot is both aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. I would love to see this become a feature for heavy weapons. A matte black Salvo or a matte black Buzzkill would be such a joy to see and if some people prefer the more wacky skins they could then equip the Day One or Kryll skins for their heavy weapons or whichever one people like the most.

    • 2: Enemy variants: I was hoping that with the introduction of the Hivebusters DLC we would get a new foot soldier enemy like Swarm Flame Grenadier but at least we got a new boss, maybe there is still hope. Regardless I think it would be a breath of fresh to see the existing variants for Swarm drones be added to the weapon. So skins like the UIR drones or the upcoming winter/desert drones would appear in the roster of existing enemies. One wave you might be fighting standard vanilla grenadiers and the next wave you might be fighting the UIR grenadier skin or every grenadier, for example, has his own variant in a wave. In a single wave, you could see both the standard Grenadier and UIR grenadier attempting to rush you. It would help diversify the already present enemies in-game.

    • 3: A post-match victory screen: I think it would be awesome to have a post-match victory screen where the whole Squad is standing together. Imagine playing as all members of Delta Squad and when you finally beat the 50th wave. You get a 10-second victory screen showcasing perhaps all of the player's stats like most kills, most revivers, etc: And on top of that you would be able to see all of the player banners and perhaps some kind of a pose for him such as sitting on the tire, standing with one foot on an ammo box or something. I have a terrible example here but it should help get the point across. I believe this subtle change would also provide a use for banners in PvE modes like Horde and it would be a nice little reward seeing all of Delta Squad, Kilo Squad, or perhaps even all of the Carmines at the end of a long 50 wave horde match.

    • 4: Legacy sounds: I'll be honest when I say this but the sounds in GOW5 just ain't what it used to be. I believe that if TC can sell weapon skins, voice lines, and even blood sprays then they could also make a new category of items to sell for weapons. What I'm talking about is there being a bundle of legacy sounds that you could apply for your weapons. This might be just my opinion but I really don't like the Gnasher sound effect in GOW5 and I would love to have the Gears UE sound effect or even the Gears 2 sound effect.

    • 5: Customizable AI teammates: I don't think I am the only one here who hates Casan and Vermelho. I believe it would be awesome to customize your AI teammates so you could have Cole or Marcus or literally anyone else that isn't Casan.

    • 6: Customizable modifiers: An idea that I recently came up with but I believe it would be awesome to see an option where you can host a private match with your friends but not be limited to 8 modifiers. Why not give us all available modifiers and let us pick our own? I personally would always have aggressive enemies turned on because it makes the game slightly harder but not to a ridiculous level as some modifiers do. Perhaps the downside to this would be that you can only play with friends and that you can only select 8 maximum because otherwise it would become impossible to complete a match and TC would have to think of a billion new difficulty names after master lol.

    Let me know what you think and if you agree with me on this list fellas or have some ideas of your own that you would like to add. I will edit the topic then. :)

    I have a wish list of improvements I would love to see you in the next game that I thought I might share.

    1. DLC Hopefully they can do something like they have done with the hive buster's DLC or RAAM's Shadow. Hopefully we can get one at the start and one later into the games life.

    2. More weapon loadouts would be great! I played gears three recently; they have a ton of weapons for your loadout which really differentiates the game unlike recent the gears. Hopefully they can change the hammer burst to be a loadout weapon again.

    3. More settings. I've seen a lot of people in here asking for a way to change things like the chainsaw. Simple things like running I don't think you can even change just kinda bullshit tbh.

    4. Better weapons with more variety. More variety with different weapons also going back to my loadout point (number 2) it would be awesome if we could get more weapons while still not complicating the game. Easier said than done I know, but I think you could be done if they really tried and shot for it.

    5. Last thing, I'll leave it up to you! Tell me some things that you want the coalition to change for gears 6!

    Gears has a problem with readability and I have solutions

    What is readability? It's how easy it is to identify key pieces of information during gameplay. Readability is important in multiplayer games with competitive matches. I will go over a few problems and present solutions for them.

    The Health Omen - The Health Omen in Gears 5 is taking up way too much of the screen and a lot of your screen turns red, even with the Inverse Omen on. This is a problem in certain areas where the massive and sudden color change on your screen acts almost like a mini flashbang. It can be very hard to see anything outside of the middle omen when you're hurt really bad.

    • The solution would be to revert the Omen back to the Gears 4 version and also with a few tweaks. There should be visual cues on the Omen to more obviously reflect how much you've really been injured. For example, there could be a greater visual distinction on your Omen between being at 30% HP or 50% HP. There shouldn't be a big sign that I took 30% HP damage from full health. But there should be when I'm at half health or when I'm within a stray bullet or two from being downed. There should be something on the Omen that clearly points to you that a melee attack will down you. Certain HP thresholds are more important to communicate than others. That's the main point I'm trying to get at here lol.

    Enemy Player Health - It's impossible in Gears to know how much health an enemy player has. It's all up to your own judgement and feel of the game. The real number is often revealed after the fact, much to your disappointment. Wouldn't it have been nice to know the guy you shot point blank only took 20% instead of 86% like you're imagining in your head - and before he kills you after you play based on your own assumption? You can't know what you've done until you've won or you've lost, and that makes for a more luck based game that rewards veteran players that have a better feel for the game while stomping on new or inexperienced players.

    • The solution to this one comes in multiple parts. The 1st part is health bars above enemies for the duration that they are marked. Mark enemies to give you and your team more intel.

    • The 2nd part of the solution is to change the roadie run animation depending on how the health of the player is. Make 3 different roadie run animations and keep the speed the exact same for all of them. So a 100% HP player will run in a way that shows they are still within the health parameters of being in healthy condition. A player who is injured around half health will run in a noticeably different way to show they aren't in critical condition yet but they aren't healthy either. Finally, a low HP player will run as if they are about to give out and become downed. Now you can quickly tell who's hurt and roughly how much, just by the way they move.

    • The 3rd and final part of the solution is to make players bleed who have low - critical HP. Not an insane amount of blood and it does no damage. But it will leave obvious trails on walls and the ground. Humans have brighter blood and Locust/Swarm have darker orange red blood with different stain patterns on surfaces. DeeBee's and Terminators track oil instead. Low health players will be easier to identify and track down in comparison to healthier players.

    Spawn Protection - You can't tell when someone has it unless you saw them spawn. And even then you're never sure of the exact moment it wears off. All of us know the frustration of losing the point blank fight when you had no idea they were invincible.

    • Solution is to cover the player with the Stim visual effect. When the invincibility wears off then the Stim goes away.

    Ran into one on a Ranked KOTH, I didn't know who he was until I saw the Elevate skin and the Elevate Gamertag and it finally clicked. Needless to say we got whooped. I verified it was him by going to his Twitter and he was live-streaming, so we probably made it on his twitch channel getting absolutely wrecked...
