    Future of Gears cosmetics

    Hi, I just want to share what I think would be a great system for Gears of war and believe is the future of cosmetics in video games.

    Gears 4: It did have loot boxes but at the end was pretty a pretty decent system and if you played enough you could get what you wanted without paying for it. The cosmetics in gears 4 were frequent and looked really good, It saddens me to know that most of the skins in gears 4 will never be used again including skins like the golden custom lancer which took an insane amount of time to get... just to be irrelevant with the new game.

    Gears 5: It took the FortNite approach with a shop and being able to purchase what you want without RNG. The system was bad at the beginning but has greatly improved which is good but stuff can still be improved.

    Exclusives Skins: It is unfortunate that skins that were supposed to be earn now can be bought (Black Phantom) doing this has underlining effect on how people perceive cosmetics in Gears 5. "Time gated skins like the road to gears 5 stuff might be purchasable later on so why bother doing it?" is the question a lot of us are asking. It ruins the integrity of high tier rewards and a game like Gears which has grinds that rival Korean MMO's somethings should only be earnable and stay with your account.

    Idea: What I think would make for a great system in Gears 5 would be that our cosmetic inventories transfer to the newer game. All of the skins in gears 4 SHOULD be in gears 5 and in future Gears. The engines are very similar so most of the models and textures from 4 could easily be ported to 5. This way things we earn will stay with us throughout each gears. It would work flawlessly, you go to customize your weapons or characters and there are 2 tabs, one for Gears 4 skins and ones for Gears 5. Little things like the 3 different lancers would be awesome to pick between in Gears 5.

    Pros for the players:

    • All your gears 4 Items you bought or earned are now usable

    • Items will be worth grinding for knowing that it will stay which might make more people go for/buy the items.

    • It would help with the lack of skin variety that we experience in Gears 5.

    Cons for players:

    • Hard drive space

    • Huge inventory

    Pros for TC:

    • The skins are already made

    • You can have a "Gears 4" page on in the shop that allows players who haven't unlocked those skins in gears 4 to buy them with Iron. So you could be making money off of things that are currently collecting dust and there wont be player blow back because if they unlocked it in 4 they'll have it in 5.

    • Begin to have integrity with skins in the game so people will be more inclined to grind or buy things they might not have because it will stay.

    • Can focus on new cosmetics

    Cons for TC

    • Time that it takes to the port skins

    • Conflicts with skins that were in gears 4 and ported to gears 5 then sold to people who might have them in both games. This could be fixed with a refund in Iron or gold, whatever was used to purchase it.

    Also Characters can still be locked and purchasable in Gears 5, Example: Say I have Black steel Anya from gears 4 and she just came out in gears 5. I can unlock her in Gears 5 then have access to her skins that I have unlocked in Gears 4.

    In conclusion this is what I think would make for a great system that everyone would win with. All of us love Gears and want it to do well, we also have been grinding for ages and would like some things to show for it. I would love to hear feedback as well as more ideas. A similar system is being used for Call of Duty's Warzone which has been very well received by the community. I don't think this will happen but I can hope, they have been turning things around and I bet this would bring a surge of people back and if by some chance they do it ill get a gears tattoo.     Played the hell out of the Epic GoW games but never got a chance to play UE online since I ended up getting an XB1 after Gears 4 dropped and by then I couldn't find a single verses match on any server. I hope we can one day see this revived so I can enjoy it like I enjoyed Gears 1

    Just beat Gears of War 2, and wow - what a great game!! Lots of emotion and unexpected story! I'm hoping Adam Fenix's story guts fleshed out soon, just bits and pieces so far. Going to run through the deleted scene from GoW 2 first though. And as I typed this I got the post credits transmission from Adam, I'm ready to play!!

    There is a stark difference between Timed Exclusive and Exclusive, and the road to gears 5 content was purported multiple times as exclusive the the players who completed those challenges, there would be no issue if TC said from the start 'timed exclusive'.

    It's also and issue of precedent, once they've released this, glacier Kait could come to the store no issue, because they exclusivity barrier would've already been broken. Give an inch and they take a mile, so to speak.

    TC just admit this was a mistep and replace it with one of the other phantom skins such as Emerald, pink or classic. Those are all sweet and never purported as exclusive! But I suspect laziness is playing a factor here...

    Why are Veteran’s (Horde Class) so reluctant to share their ULT?

    It's been this way for a while and yet the game has been out for a year: the Veteran- previously Marcus- activates his ULT and never takes cover on a wall. Instead, he literally stands right beside the wall and takes off enemy heads while the Marksman- previously Fahz- sits there with his ULT on standby. Either you are very oblivious or blatantly selfish.
