    Don't know if this will do much but after seeing that top post yesterday I saw nothing but positive comments about Wingman and the memories that people had playing the excellent game mode. Hoping we get a lot of signatures and the Devs do what they can to get it back so we can create more memories with our favorite Wingman!

    This Game (Gears 5) Really Needs Help Fast

    This is a long read and is meant for a well thought out and friendly discussion.

    I'm not hating on this game. If anything, I love it the most out of everyone I play with. I defend it the most. Probably even when I shouldn't, but if I really love it then I will be honest and bring up its flaws.

    First, the microtransactions are pricey. The skins are definitely way better though. If you say Delivery Mac or Neil Degrasse Keagan look dumb, then you clearly do not remember the zombie or color blast packs. Despite the skins being good, the prices are high. Especially, with flags. 700 iron to say I love America? Ridiculous! Lol. I wont comment anymore on this, because I'm sure it has to do with Microsoft and not TC.

    Second, The operations are honestly too long for the content we get. A sergeant 2 banner? I saw a kid get mvp and this was his banner. That had to be some kind of troll. There's filler content in the TOD and it's disgusting. Make the grind worth it. The desert and winter skins are cool and worth it I think. If you're going to give us filler content like those banners than just gives us 100 iron. Or even 50. Hell, give me 25. Something please. Give us proper incentive for the grind.

    Third, Flashbangs.... These items clearly need more tweaking. The reduced flashed time does help, but what's the point of being able to see if you can't shoot? Please reduce the duration of stun a bit. That's all I ask. Or return them to their original state and make them a pickup. That works like the shock. Flashes enemies and teammates. They are good in certain situations, but they shouldn't be able to just spawn in with. KOTH suffers from this. Also, please rework the spawns in KOTH too.

    Fourth, this is just a whole conversation in general and will ultimately be a summary and repeat of what I just said. This game's playerbase is dying. I'm running into people that I've played with several times throughout the day already. This game is barely a month old and it's already almost like Gears 4 at the end of it's lifespan. I don't mind bodying the same kids, but it's just I would like to see one of my favorite game series blow up and stay blown up. I'm sure it'll always be a niche type game, but can the niche just get a bit bigger. I really enjoy all the maps, except for Bunker. It's not horrible, but it's not a favorite. I'm glad Foundation is entering rotation. I want to see new maps though. These new players and even old players need more content to stay playing. I'm down for old map remakes like Raven Down (it's the nuketown of Gears), but not overrated maps like Gridlock and Blood Drive. Yes, I said it. Your favorite maps are overrated. If you remake old maps let it be Mansion, or Garden. Something that hasn't been remade. I'm sure it's tough and takes time, but please communicate with us just a little more. Rod isn't an asshole for liking a tweet that called us whiny. I mean....look at this whole subreddit recently and think of how he must feel. And Octus is just doing his job. He can only do so much. You know how brave you sound over a keyboard? I bet you dont talk shit like that to people in real life. Please relax. I want to see this game have a long and great lifespan. It needs efforts from the coalition and from us as fans. If you genuinely don't like it then.........don't play it. Simple as that. No need to shit on it 24/7. Who are you? Gears Prodigy?

    Comparing Gears 4 and 5 - Aim Assist, Magnetism, and Backpacking

    TL;DR: Gears 4 and 5 both have magnetism in core and not in competitive. Seems to be stronger in 5, but hard to tell. Backpacking and close range shots and backpacking seem to behave differently in 5 than in 4 due to a change in how the camera positions itself when aiming down sights. It appears possible to kill a player who is further behind you in Gears 5.

    Hey everyone,

    Out of my own curiosity, I wanted to run some side by side tests on how Gears 4 and Gears 5 handled bullet magnetism and backpacking on the "core" and "competitive" tuning. I compiled my findings into a video at the top of this post.

    I tested both core and competitive tuning in both games and found that they behave relatively similar - core tuning has magnetism on the gnasher, and competitive does not. I also did some playing around with the lancer in both, and it appears that close range, the lancer does not magnetize in core in either games, but I didn't record this. For clarity, execution, escalation, and 2v2 gnashers used competitive tuning in Gears 4, while the rest of the modes used Core, same as Gears 5.

    One strange thing I noticed was how the perspective differed when aiming down sights very close to another player. I was curious how the gnasher would behave when you tried to cross a player up on their right side, such that you would be closer to their gun. I found that in Gears 4, players and player aim perspectives were not able go get nearly as close to each other, and the ability to "backpack" or kill a player when they are past the barrel of your gun was much stronger in Gears 5. The ability to be closer to enemies and the slightly altered aiming perspective allowed me to stand further behind the other player and still hit them with either my pistol or my gnasher. Whether or not I would hit was not displayed on the corsshair in anyway, but is displayed in Gears 4, indicated by a purple crosshair.

    What my takeaways were: Bullet magnetism exists in both games, but feels slightly stronger in Gears 5; Gears 4 and 5 both appear to utilize center screen shooting when very close to a player; the perspective/aim assist in Gears 5 allows the player to kill someone who is further behind them if they are on the "gun arm" side of the shooting player; and the recent updates to Gears 5 have removed the ability to shoot through corners, which was demonstrated by Domez near launch (now behaves the same as Gears 4, have separate footage for this).

    I'm sure a lot of these things are known or have been discussed before, but I wanted to do my own testing and see what I found. Thanks for your time.
