Posted: 17 Jul 2021 04:21 PM PDT In Gears 4, they were first introduced, so it's understandable why they didn't appear as a global threat that had Sera under its heel. In Gears 5 however, it seems they were intended to be much more problematic. In my opinion though, they fell short by a mile. The characters barely even seem to care about the fact that the swarm exists. In my opinion, I feel in Gears 6 the stakes need to be raised. The swarm needs to feel overwhelmingly powerful, just like the locust did in G1 and G2. For this to happen, characters need to die, and environments need to be leveled. At least that's how I see it.
