    Series X shutting off

    Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else playing Gears 5 on Xbox series X has encountered the console turning itself off after the new OP started, the xbox will make the noice as if the power button has been pressed and will turn off mid game, also have to power it back on with the power button as the controller becomes unresponsive

    Any help appreciated, thanks guys

    Did anyone else think that Kait... (Warcraft 3 spoilers)

    Did anyone else think that the story in Gears 5 was going to be about Kait being tempted by her ability to control the Swarm? When she enters that bigass machine, there's almost a moment of intimacy between her and that giant tank monster.

    I was getting serious Warcraft 3 vibes, how Arthas ends up taking control of the scourge but loses everything in the process.

    It's a little frustrating how the new Gears games take just enough risks with the characters to whet your appetite, but never go far enough to the point where they tread new ground.

    What annoys me is that the foundation is there.

    • Maybe Kait is doing something good/important in the bigass machine and Del misunderstands her screaming and tears the wires out while Niles-bot begs him to stop. All kinds of crazy shit can come of this.

    • Imagine if they actually made a playable flashback where you as JD give the command to fire on civilians, Spec Ops: The Line style. Kait not understanding the scope of his moral decision could have led to interesting emotions for the player.

    • What if Del was ACTUALLY sent by JD to keep an eye on Kait, and it was her Locust-blood that let her overhear this. Discovering that after she learned to trust him would drive a huge wedge between them. Especially if...

    • If there was more of a romance going on. These are testosterone-filled mutant slayers damn it. How is there so little romantic tension?

    • Or if there was more of a disagreement between Kait and Marcus between her running from her duties as a Gear to discover her origins.

    • Or more of a mentor/student relationship between them

    • What if the final 'choice' between JD and Del was heightened by the game expanding JD's relationship with his father vs Kait's game-long growing romance with Del?

    I am not saying any of these events should have happened, but I just wanted SOMETHING like that. Some real character tension on-screen. Instead the developers focused on time skips to progress characters.

    They also gave Kait really boilerplate responses to everything. She's just so reactive in the typical 'hollywood' style of writing. Del, too, is just a typical sarcastic side character.

    I'm just ranting. I guess most people are happy with how the characters are. The campaign feels like a missed opportunity though. It reminds me a lot of The Last Jedi when Rey almost joins Kylo, but then backs out and they go back to 'STar Wars business as usual". In fact, a lot of the new Gears games give me serious Star Wars sequel trilogy vibes.

    Are the coalition going to make Ultimate Edition playable or not?

    I was looking forward to replaying GoW on PC after about a decade since I last played 1. Only to find out the game broke after a windows update and they never fixed it?. I wanted to play this after escaping Mass Effect's mouse issues only to also have to deal with this. Fuck the PC platform I guess lol

    Edit:I was getting 40 fps and I had to drop all settings to get a crazy fluctuating number from 50-120. At least it's more playable than before
