    TC said all characters would be free or unlockable through gameplay. But it looks like they lied.

    Earned Power In Horde Exploit/Feature

    Not sure if this is on purpose ...So with the new update when you start a new horde match on wave 50 and touch the fabricator you are given 55,000 power and it NOW counts towards any medals and daily objectives. As soon as you touch the fabricator and get the power just quit to lobby and repeat.

    Because that's seriously what this feels like. I had a bit of hope remaining before today that they'd turn things around, and the microtransaction bullshit was testing the waters and they'd turn back after the huge backlash, but the reveal of the new Terminator characters today and the unlock system for the new non-Terminator characters has shown that they're not stopping, in fact, things are getting worse.

    And I can't really see how this is good for them... their game has fallen from #1 to #21 in a month. Are they just trying to force it and normalize these kinds of microtransactions? That's not going to happen in 2019 when there's tons of games without any microtransactions at all coming out now. I just don't see what the benefit is to doing this is.

    Why the fuck are me and my team still getting match result errors? 2x MVP with 20+ caps and 70+ kills and almost 20 breaker kills towards my medal and it all shit the bed on me. Stop releasing shit no one wants and make sure the bugs are fucking ironed out first.

    This launch has been a complete joke. As an OG versus gears fan that has played every single game 1-4, this has been the worst experience I've ever had on this game. From magnetic bullets to the movement changes to the escalation changes, the gameplay took a huge step back from Gears 4, which actually towards the end of its cycle was the most fun I've had on Gears in my life. Why change core mechanics of the game to decrease the skill gap?

    And don't get me started on this most recent "content" update. This is the 2nd most scummy monetization scheme I've ever seen in a $60 game (BO4 being the first with pay-to-win lootboxes lol). With the 4 character release, you have to go through a series of challenges of ALL the modes (I almost never touch Escape and Horde because it isn't fun to me) just to unlock a character you want. And oh yeah, you can't even work towards all of them at the same time, you have to equip each totem separately and suffer through the modes (200 waves of horde, 72 acts of escape, 160 rounds of versus in all to unlock JUST these 4 characters) that some of us don't even want to play. But hey! If you don't want to grind, feel free to spend a low price of $20 for all of them off the bat. I know some people make the argument that most of us got it 'free' with the Ultimate game pass (including myself even though it runs out next month and I won't be buying the actual game), but it's still a $60+ game to a large portion of the playerbase. This isn't a f2p Fortnite, what the hell is this store that you put out? I didn't even mention the 2nd Terminator pack that was put out as well, which is $20 for 2 characters with Grace being a p2w mechanic for Horde players (lol). And there's still not even characters that were in the campaign (Cole, Baird, Carmine) that are playable.

    TC made all these promises of a whole new, better system than Gears of War 4, but surprisingly all I want is that system back (though it wasn't much better). We can't unlock characters by just playing Versus (or whatever an individual would like to play), we have to go through so many rounds of game modes we would never usually touch, and it's just a slap in the face to loyal players.

    I won't be buying Gears 5 once my game pass runs out and I recommend that other frustrated fans do the same by voicing frustrations to TC for their scummy monetization system with their wallet. I'm going back to Gears 4

    The “Totem” system is bullshit. There is literally no purpose for it aside from significantly increasing the grind for characters to incentivize players to spend money. Such systems should not be so obviously implemented, if they’re implemented at all...

    Gears isn’t counting my progress.

    Apologies on the lack of correct terminology, but I've been running into issues today that I had on day one.

    That stupid tier system that's supposedly rewards you for doing these obnoxious accomplishments is seemingly not keeping progress. Not sure if it's on purpose, but it seems to me that it conveniently doesn't track my progress when I should've finished a challenge.

    Specifically the Horde Veteran one. Seeing as it's only 5 times it's easy to keep track of. I should've gotten it completed about five minutes ago. But it still says 4/5. In fact post game, it gave me the little feedback message telling me I completed it.

    I return to the main menu and it still says 4/5. What the hell? I actually have 6/5, because it didn't count TWO completed horde matches. Okay TC. Okay.

    And before anyone says the terminator horde 20 wave thing counts I know. I'm doing it again and again and it's still not telling me I finished it when I have.
